DSC03311 End of Safari

Returning from safari...

This was a sunset jeep safari in Liwonde National Park. It was one of my favorites as you are literally out on the open plain with only you/your party, the driver, and a park ranger... and all the nature and wildlife your heart desires. They take great care to protect this national park so you don't have to worry about an over abundance of vehicles or people trampling around (or getting in your pictures). Because I was shooting commercially I only had about two hours to devote to this excursion, but you can sign up for longer. There are lions and big cats in this park as well, but due to my time limitations, we did not find them. I did get to see a hyena on the way out, which was fun. As with the Shire River safari, I signed up for this safari through Bushman's Baobabs Bush Lodge and Safari Camp. The camp is literally inside the park so going on safari with them is a wonderful way to go (and story time around the bonfire each night is great fun)! See the links to the left to learn more about Bushman's.
